What’s in a Game?
So you’ve found your way here (probably by accident) and might be asking yourself why someone saw the need to put bicycles, spoons and apples in the same web domain. Lucky for you, I have an answer. I have a very close knit group of friends, and ever since we were little, we’ve been extremely competitive. If any one of us was enrolled in a competitive sport or activity, the rest were never far behind. Towards the start of high school, we became interested in more extreme and wacky sports, including a few games of our own design. One of these was bicycle egg races, which—while our parents found it cute at first—got old with the constant cleaning up (or leaving behind) of splattered eggs wherever we played. So we graduated to apples, a cleaner, tastier alternative, and just called it another test of skill.
We played that game, or variations of it, for years. A couple of us now have kids that we’ve taught the games to, which—in case you were wondering—is a sign that our love for weird games still abides. Bicycle Spoon Apple (we never did come up with a name for it without the eggs) has hit the web in the interest of helping people find out more about these awesome, unusual sports. It just takes a few people with the same taste in fun to have a good time, and that’s what this site aims to show. I’ll also be sharing anonymous posts made by others excited about sharing sports and recreation of all kinds. Whether it’s getting dirty, or good clean fun, there’ll be something here for everyone!
